1. The Fancars marketplace
Fancars is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects vehicle owners ("Hosts") with people who want to rent a car ("Renters"). Fancars is not a party to the rental agreement between a Host and a Renter; we provide the platform, payment processing, identity verification, and support tools that make those trips possible.
2. Fees
Renters pay the price set by the Host, plus any delivery fee or extras the Host offers and the Host chooses to select, plus applicable tax. Fancars does not add a renter service fee. Hosts pay Fancars a flat commission on the rental subtotal, disclosed in the app before you list a car.
3. Security deposits
If a Host requires a security deposit, Fancars places an authorization hold on the Renter's payment method shortly before the trip begins. This is a hold, not a charge. It is released after checkout unless a damage claim is filed and resolved against it.
4. Verification
Renters must provide a valid driver's license and proof of insurance, and Hosts must provide proof of vehicle ownership and registration, before using the marketplace. Fancars reviews these documents and may reject or suspend accounts that fail verification.
5. Damage, disputes, and cancellations
Both parties document vehicle condition at the start and end of every trip. Damage claims and post-trip charges (such as mileage overages) may be disputed within the window shown on the charge. Cancellation refunds follow the policy shown on the listing at the time of booking.
6. Prohibited conduct
Users may not misrepresent a vehicle's condition, use the platform for illegal activity, or attempt to circumvent Fancars' payment system to avoid fees.
7. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Fancars after a change constitutes acceptance.
